we are moving we are

I used to hide cash or cigarettes in various places around my apartment-- in vases, behind books, or buried under piles of sweaters.

planting future suprises.

I used to worry about falling asleep, more so when I was little, than I do now.

I like los angeles when the sun starts to fall and the sky is orange and it feels like Halloween.

Someone asked me the other day, how people can be happy in a city like los angeles. I wasn't sure. I should have mentioned orange.

I did mention how the subway only goes halfway, and that it's my little secret, or at least that's how it seems. I take it to the library and I rent biographies. I take it to the art museum. I take it to Angels Flight. I sit on a bench near the Builtmore. I like it underground.

My dear friend, Richard, and I took the redline to the end.

The station was breathtaking. A ghost town. A wooden feel with bursts of sunlight. trains waiting to take off and big chairs for lounging. we took photos and wrote. I still don't have the photos back from the place.

Some things just disappear.

I like this. I wish I could edit a literary journal again--I'd ask you to write a text for it every issue!
